TUSCALOOSA, AL. - Former LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger has been hired as an analyst for Alabama football according to the athletic department's online staff directory.
Mettenberger, 30, is an Athens, Georgia, native who attended Georgia and transferred to LSU before the 2011 season. Mettenberger spent three seasons with the Tigers, two as the starter.

A sixth round draft pick by the Tennessee Titans in 2014, Mettenberger spent three seasons in the National Football League with 10 career starts in a career that include brief stops in San Diego and Pittsburgh.
Mettenberger was most recently offensive coordinator at Father Ryan High School in 2021 and Hillsboro High 2020, both in Nashville.
