Alabama basketball's Herbert Jones was announced as a third-team Associated Press All-American on Tuesday.
Jones is the Crimson Tide's first AP All-American selection since Erwin Dudley in 2002. Dudley also was a third-team pick.
Jones, a senior forward leads Alabama in rebounds, assists, steals and blocks entering Saturday's NCAA Tournament opener against No. 15 seed Iona (TV: TBS, 3 p.m. CT). Jones, the SEC player of the year and SEC defensive player of the year, also is averaging 11.4 points per game.
