No. 4 Alabama softball completed a three-game sweep of the No. 22 Auburn Tigers this weekend, improving its record to 22-1.

On Friday night, the Crimson Tide beat Auburn 6-0 behind a Lexi Kilfoyl complete game.

Kaylee Tow led Alabama to a 4-1 win on Saturday night to clinch the series. On Sunday, the

Crimson Tide beat the Tigers 4-2 after gaining the lead in the fifth inning.

Here are three things we learned:

Pitchers continue dominance

Stop us if you have read this before: Lexi Kilfoyl pitched another complete game (four on the season) and set a career high for strikeouts (10) on Friday night.

Montana Fouts continued to distance herself from the rest of the nation in her strikeout-to-walk ratio, now at 96:7. Fouts pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts Saturday.

Kilfoyl and Fouts combined for six strikeouts and held the Tigers to four hits Sunday.

Power bats all weekend

On Friday night, the Crimson Tide had four players turn in multi-hit performances: Bailey Hemphill, Elissa Brown, Bailey Dowling and Alexis Mack.

Hemphill added two home runs and became the third player in program history to reach 200 career RBIs.

On Saturday, Kaylee Tow hit three doubles with two RBIs. Tow’s performance ties the school record for doubles in a single game. Tow added another double Sunday.

Dowling hit a three-run home run Sunday in the top of the fifth inning. This was one of the Crimson Tide's 10 hits.

Crimson Tide responds in late innings

Alabama has gotten off to fast starts in the majority of its games, outscoring opponents 29-1 in the first inning.

This weekend, the Crimson Tide continued its scoring into the late innings. On Friday, Alabama scored two runs in the fifth and added three in the last two innings on Saturday. On Sunday, the Crimson Tide scored four innings in the last three innings.

In the 16 innings Alabama opponents have scored, the Crimson Tide has responded with a run in 13 of those innings.

What’s next

The Crimson Tide travel to Birmingham on Wednesday night to take on UAB at 6 p.m.

Alabama hosts Tennessee this weekend in a three-game series. Friday and Sunday’s games will be televised on ESPNU, while Saturday will be streamed on SEC Network+.
